The company decided to bring Beamdog along since the studio has plenty of experience, as they have already launched enhanced editions of all the games on the PC platform and on smartphone/tablet devices. These are the games that set the standard for role-playing titles and few of the recent offerings manage to offer the same amount of depth and quality that was poured into the old games. Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe has recently declared that his company is proud to be able to bring the unmatched RPG experience to console gamers. The title is credited with the revival of the role-playing genre and the introduction of several features that have become a standard, including the top-down isometric third-person perspective that can be found in a large number of RPGs that have been published as years passed. The game was released back in 1998 and it received universal critical acclaim from players and developers alike. The first Baldur’s Gate was co-developed by Bioware and Black Isle studios. Enhanced editions of the well-known Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II and Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, Icewind Dale, Nevewinter Nights and Planescape: Torment will be available in boxed editions at retail stores and as digital downloads. The latter is already known for the delivery of enhanced versions of iconic Dungeons& Dragons PC titles. The titles will be provided by publisher Skybound Games and Beamdog. A selection of the most popular PC RPGs titles will arrive on the consoles later in 2019.
